My background is in biomechanics, which is a mixture of mechanical engineering, biology, and medicine. A very interdisciplinary education that has taught me a lot about the challenges and common problems in these different fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weidmann Medical Technology is an established and agile player in the CDMO life science market. The company has a great mindset, and the combination of a stable, family-owned business with clear goals and the flexibility of a small, highly motivated team that is not afraid to push forward is very intriguing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my role, I\u2019m responsible for the acquisition of new projects. I scope out customers but I also analyze the medical, pharma, and healthcare markets continually to keep an eye out for growing trends and emerging technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together with our technical team, I craft the individual manufacturing solution for producing our customers\u2019 product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I see a trend towards smaller solutions. For example, using sample volumes in PCR reactions and lab automation. This affects the corresponding consumables and requires highly sophisticated manufacturing technologies and an experienced development team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many customers want more input in their early development process. We at Weidmann Medical are poised to support this demand and help our customers navigate complex situations and assess challenging decisions regarding their designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weidmann Medical is a pure contract manufacturer. Not bringing our own products to market allows us to focus on the customer without any conflict of interest. Additionally, while Weidmann Medical is a smaller, agile player, we possess mastery of technologies normally reserved for the big companies in the CDMO field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite being part of a group with nearly 4,000 employees, the business unit of Weidmann Medical works efficiently, with a lot also happening face-to-face. We conduct regular official meetings about ongoing projects, but exchanges also happen during coffee or lunch breaks as team members from all areas (engineering, innovation, production, and project management) are only steps away from one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a manufacturer and development partner to our customers, their business case and success in the market equals ours. Such collaboration is based on the foundation of shared goals and fair exchange to foster long-lasting relationships and trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Especially within two of our manufacturing sites (one in Europe and one in North America) who have great growth potential with available manufacturing capacity, but also additional space for new cleanrooms. So, we are actively evaluating different partners and projects for the best fit for Weidmann Medical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m excited and driven by solving problems. I love to see projects that bring real value to patients\u2019 progress. With work through the difficult stages and, in the very end, the final product potentially changes lives for the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
